Holy Trinity's Food Closet began in 1988 and was named after the small, closet-like space in the church basement where the service was housed. Though the Food Closet served just a small number of people each week in its early years, word quickly spread and caused significant annual growth in demand.
In an effort to support this growth, a 2,600-square-foot dedicated modular space was built in 2005, from which we now serve over 23,000 people per year. Our market-style facility allows the client to select which foods best fit their needs. We are open three days a week with clients welcome to visit every two weeks.
Of course, none of this would be possible without strong support from over 60 volunteers who dedicate over 700 hours to this program each month. Whether picking up food, stocking shelves, or serving the clients, these faithful volunteers make it happen!
