Holy Trinity's mission statement is Know - Grow - Go: to come to know God personally, to grow in our relationship with Him, and to go forth as His instruments in the world. Grow Group is intended to help us with the second part. More than just adult faith education, Grow Group is a chance to come together with other parishioners, make new friendships, learn about our Catholic faith, pray together, and share faith together.
This year, we'll return to primarily meeting in-person (at least until the weather turns more Oregon-ish), starting on October 8th. We'll meet every second and fourth Wednesday in the Fireside Room from 6:00–7:15pm.
If you’d like to participate, you need do nothing other than show up. My email list of participants from past years is fairly stale, so I’ll be compiling a new list going forward. If you’d like to have your email included, all you need to do is email me or complete the form here on this page and I'll add you to my mailing list!
For those of you who are new to Grow Group, we usually begin with either a brief video clip or else a short article, bible passage, or some other reading, and then move into discussing it. Easy! Discussions tend to be lively (sometimes passionate!), but always respectful. We have people participating who are deeply educated in theology, and people who have no theology at all, other than what they’ve picked up at Mass. Frequently, we’ll focus on spirituality, sometimes on Scripture, sometimes on social issues, sometimes on current events.
All in all, it’s a wonderful group of people, and I always walk away grateful for the opportunity to be with them. Looking forward to regathering with all of you!
In the spring of 2020, Deacon Brett and our then-Pastoral Apprentice Ally Z. had invited our then-Parochial Vicar Fr. Hans Mueller to talk about his time in Rome. . . right when COVID-19 struck and forced us to cancel everything here on campus. Thanks to Zoom, they were able to still make his presentation possible!
Due to some technical difficulties, a bit of the beginning portion was not recorded, but what was recorded is about two-thirds of his whole talk. Check it out and enjoy!
